well I bought this and so far as land use so far see what U/W looks like this sunday, performance don't like when you zoom the focus is terrible when zoomed out picture fine just not zoomed . my advice don't take short cut like I did safe money get full size cam and housing . so looking for cam and housing . was looking at this one because of excellent reviews every wear, no case yet but should be soon. Got one for wife on mothers day. We took it shortly after to key largo, two weeks ago.
Benifits being - inexpensive buy in price, easy for her to understand, Fairly compact. It also doubles top side for other family fuctions and holds a crap load of data even with a mid size data card. Shot good video at 0 - 30 ft. O.K video even at Spiegel grove untill swim throughs then like any unit w/o light was just sound. Will probably get her the attaching light before next outing to St. Lucia in August. Seeing that she has about 450 less dives than yourself, there is enough stuff for her to be adjusting without complicating it w/ video. Nice to share with kids and friends. I think if you are looking for more than that from it, it might not be the unit.

are you having any trouble with it focusing on zoom wish I knew how I could up load small video to show you .

medic, no problems with zoom but experiencing very short battery life between charges. It seems there is alot going on in a very small package. I do know from other posts before I purchased that being very still is crutial.

The zoom is terrible... it just goes out of focus and looks really bad when i zoom, otherwise i really like the set up ....here is a Cozumel video i made

VeggieVagabond- I noticed some 'pixilating' in some of your scenes. Is that attributable to being zoomed in? I am considering this set-up myself, or getting a housing for my Flip. I just want something inexpensive to suppliment my SLR set-up I always carry (and no, I have a first generation Rebel XT, no video)
