Well, I got most of my setup now...just need a camera body(5D). However I'm not sure what's broken...if anything is.

I just traded some other camera gear with a friend for a second DS-50 not realizing I how old it was...it's not e-ttl and can't be upgraded to...serial number is 62,xxx. Anyways I threw my 20D into the housing to give things a whirl... as far as I know e-ttl is e-ttl and all should be good on that end.

When I had both strobes on TTL(before I realized the strobe was too old) they kept flashing when I push the shutter half way. Soon I realized the issue and turned off the older strobe and still the same problem. I then put both strobes to manual and it seems to have stopped and I'm assuming it's because of the one strobe. I then realized the TTL circuit on the housing was still on TTL. According to the instructions I should hold down both buttons till it switches to manual...it's not switching no matter how long I hold or which one I push or whatever I do.

Unfortunately I don't have anyone around to ask...would appreciate some help.

Thanks,
Matt

Yes...it's on the red band

It mysteriously started working 'better' after I posted this...if I set the ttl/manual setting right after I turn the strobes on it changes. However no matter what power level it's on it seems to be firing at the same strength. At least the pictures are looking the same(I'm setting it with the LED on the housing) Still getting random flashes sometimes when I depress the shutter half way.
