Hello,

I have a Canon A650 IS with Ikelite housing.

I was thinking about an Ikelite DS160 package with EV manual controller and SA-100 arm setup.

Couple Questions:

1. How accurate is the EV manual controller in terms of firing the strobe at the right time?

2. What does everyone think about the different arm options. I have never used this type of rig before.

3. What's my best bet for future compatibility with arms and strobes when I go to a Canon/Nikon & Aquatica setup in a couple years? Will I be able to use the strobe and arm with the new housing?

Thanks for the advice.

The EV controller is good if a bit bulky
You will find the Ike strobes quite negatively buoyant so plan either flotation type arms or foam buoyancy around the standard Ike arms.
The 1" ball arms should be fine with pretty much any rig.
If you want TTL compatibility other than by slaving off the camera flash, plan this in advance in conjunction with your housing, camera and lead.
