Hi i have a Ikelite Ds 200.
I have been using it paired with a DS 50.

My question is i have a very nice deal on a older in perfect condition SS 200.

Would it work with my ikelite D90 system?
I recall reading somewhere that the voltage from non digital strobes will damage my camera.
If so would it work as a non wired slave strobe with its built in sensor?
Or should i hook up the SS 200 to the slave ttl sensor (also i heard that for old strobes you have to use the orange sensor and not the gray one) is that true?

thanks!

SS does not play nicely with DS. Buy the Orange slave trigger and that will work. The orange trigger takes a bunch of tiny batteries and that kinda stinks as if memory serves they were expensive. You may have to abandon any TTL or pre flash mode with the DS strobe. You will have to play with it and see what works. Why not just keep the DS50? That works and does TTL.

I just figured that the extra power of having the SS 200 powered with the digital DS 200 would be a nice option vs. the DS 50.

So it would be better to use the orange slave sensor vs. the black one?
