A few weekends ago I was diving with my new C7070, Ike housing, and DS125 strobe. BTW, I love this rig!
However, I couldn't get the strobe to fire. I messed with all the camera settings thinking I had inadvertantly screwed something up.
After MUCH problem-solving, I figured out that the hotshoe connector on top of the camera comes in contact with the top of the housing when it is being assembled. It is such a tight fit that it *just* dislodges the hotshoe ever-so-slightly. But, it's enough for the connection to be lost, thus the strobe doesn't get a signal to fire.
Anyone else have this problem? I believe I can remedy it by simply filing down the plastic corner on the hotshoe connector. But, my Ike housing for my C5050 was so wonderfully designed I can't imagine Ike messed up here.
