anyone use this combo?

i am thinking about 2 inon z240s as alternative to my 1 ikelite ds 161. reason being i would like 2 strobes, but the 161 is so heavy, i cant imagine 2 (thinking of traveling)..

any suggestions? i hear that the z240/ikelite combo does not allow for use of TTL, but I have never found TTL to work very well for me...prefer manual...so I would get a regular sync cord, or is it triggered optically?

also, what armset would i use to connect these strobes/housing?

thanks...

gringalouca,
unfortunatly the Ikelite D90 housing don't allow the cameras strobe to pop up fully and so the strrobe will not fire and not triggering the optical slave strobe.
so no optical triggered slave strobes... A real mess!

I am using the DS-125 with it and TTL works quite reliable.
You may ask here in the Ikelite forum if and how you can trigger electrically a Z240

I suggest to buy 2 aluminium ball-joint arms per side as the offer the most flexible strobe position
and they are very light.

You can buy the Ikelite Digital sync cord which connects Inon strobes to the Ikelite bulkhead. There isnt any TTL but if your use to shooting manually you wont have a problem. Ikelite Sync Cords

I have an Ikelite Bulkhead on my Aquatica and currently use Ikelite DS161 strobes and also looking at Inon Z240 maybe for travel. I still prefer the Ikelite DS161 for my local shooting and I dont find them heavy when used with ULCS 8 inch bouyancy arms (two 8 inch arms per strobe). But the Compact size of the Z240 will be great if your travelling and need to cut down the weight of your baggage.
