I do a lot of distance running in the 50-60 mile per week range when I'm not training for anything in particular. Marathons in the spring and fall. It's one of my oldest hobbies and I always struggled to take rest days until I took up diving (I hate rest days). Now, if I'm not running in the morning, it's because I'm going diving. I also build the occasional computer for gaming and collect/drink nicer whiskies. But diving has pretty much drained the budget out of every other hobby but running.

My next couple of favorite, regular activities in descending order are:

kiteboarding
wakeboarding
deep sea fishing

Overall, I'm pretty much an adventure traveler with an addiction to exotic/remote destinations for hiking, trekking, white water rafting, as well as the bevy of other activities that always seem to present themselves. :-D

I'd be able to live without diving, but my life would be less rich without it.

Considering where I do most of my diving, the question boils down to what else do I do when the tides suck.

I'm fortunate to live in a place where there's easy access to both the sea and the mountains. So when I'm not going down, I go up. In summer I hike. In winter I snow shoe or ski.

Two week-ends ago the tidal exchanges were 14 feet. So I went here ...

Stoo, what in the heck kind of a question is that anyway?
