15 year old Sony Cyber Shot finally died. :(

What is the best way to spend $500 on a new camera / housing? Not really into video and I love to take macro shots.

Thanks!

Definitely the TG5 or 6. You can find deals. I just sold a TG-5 and housing to a friend for $300. The TGs are definitely good at macro.

Or see @David Haas as he has some good used Canon gear close to that price point.

I've not only bought from Dave Haas but he has also been one of my mentors and a friend for a number of years.
We've spent hours together and on the phone. I also have bought land camera gear from him. I just got a Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head at 1/3 of the prices I saw on B&H and Adorama for a new one. This one is used but you have to really look to tell.
He normally gives me and a few others first pick at items he gets in before he lists them.
I have his brother's 100-400 L series Canon lens that was used maybe 3 times before he got tired of the type of shooting he bought it for and Dave arranged the sale.
I got my Ikelite housing from him new at well below what I would have paid anywhere else.
His descriptions of condition, use, etc are spot on and can be trusted 100%.
