25 times better under water, can you hear a burp, a flatulence, or a voice in the water?

I went snorkeling with my step daughter and her friend, and they were screaming and talking, even with the snorkel in their mouth.

I didn't realize that you can vocalize with a snorkel. I wonder if one could do that with a regulator in their mouth. Have anyone tried to talk in their reg.. My guess is the sound of the bubbles would drown out your voice.

I've been talking underwater since I started diving. It takes practice to learn to understand underwater speech. I can usually understand if you talk to me, but few seem to be able to understand me.

I can scream through my reg into my buddies ear well enough for him to hear. Mostly short words.

With the rubber mouthpiece of a double hose regulator (and a bit of practice) you can have a conversation underwater. It also helps that the noise from the bubbles is behind you and muffled.

The only limitation is that the mouthpiece in your mouth doesn't let you articulate well.

Yes, you can talk underwater. There is a mouthpiece that helps you speak a bit clearer. The bit tab extends to you back teeth, so you sound like you are talking with your mouth closed. Takes Practice.
