I'm looking for some insight in the best places to go in the world to dive in May. We're considering Thailand but I hear it's hot as hades there in MAy and the diving is so so. Thoughts??

Is it pretty safe there right now for Americans?? My dad is from Egypt and I've always wanted to check it out.

Yes .. Egypt is safe .. Specially a city like Sharm El-Sheihk is full of forigners coming from everywhere to dive Red Sea.

Don't Worry ;)

If you are ready to go to Thailand, why don't you come and check Indonesia? There are many places here where you will not have to share the boat with 20 other divers, and May is a good time already. Check around Sulawesi. Don't spend too much time considering Bali. Or also think about Malaysia.
What I mean to say is that there are many options besides places where diving has really become an industry.
And they can still be part of the best places in the world.....;)

RSS has sold me on Egypt in May...now I need details. Liveaboards, best diving locations etc...

We want to spend 2 weeks (or a little more) abroad in Athens, Cairo, diving, and Israel. What's the best way to plan this?? I know very little about the diving situation, and my travel agent will probably firm up the other details for me. Do you guys have suggestions? I will also be traveling with my two year old son and both my wife and I are divers. It sounds like liveaboard is the way to go, but will they watch my son while I dive?

Any info, links, etc would be greatly appreciated and thaks for the replies. They enabled me to look into alot of differnent infoprmation to arrive at this conclusion. Thanks again.

BTW, RSS, I sent you a PM.

Ever dove on a liveaboard? We are looking for one or two divers to join a group for a Nekton dive cruise in May 13-20. We have discounted price with the group. $400 off per person. If you dont know about Nekton check it out at www.nektoncruises.com. THis is a all inclusive deal. The only thing you have to bring is you, your gear and your drinks. This is the top shelf of dive trips. if interested give me an email at matt99gators@yahoo.com.
