ID of LP hose and WOB

I wonder if some wizard can answer this question:- Does the internal diameter of the LP hose have an effect on the WOB? Some manufacturers seem to think so. The Dive Rite Hurricane, and the Beuchat VR 200 both have "large bore" LP hoses, and I believe there are others. Intuitively the resistance must be proportional to the length of the hose, and probably inversely to the square of the radius or diameter, but the air is under pressure of around 140 psi, so how does this all compute? The standard LP hose apparently has an ID of 5/16ths of an inch (7.94 mm), the miflex hoses have an ID of 6.5 mm, and presumably the "large bore" hoses have an ID greater than 8mm. I notice that the 2009 Beuchat comes with a "braided hose" which must be a Miflex, so was the large bore just marketing hype?
 
CW seems to indicate it has more of an effect on marketing than performance.
 
Larger LP hoses with 1/2" fittings were all the rage several years ago. They added absolutely nothing to performance and just made life difficult for divers and LDS owners. But the marketing people loved them as it gave them a new feature to push on otherwise totally unchanged regulator designs.

In general, the hose bore diameter is not the limiting factor in the system. That limiting factor is normally the orifice diameter in the second stage.

You can get into fluid dynamics and practical examples like a single 5" fire hose pumping more weter than two 3" fire hoses, but in practice the standard LP hose will deliver all the gas a reg can use or a diver needs.

The milflex hoses pose a new question as they are slightly smaller in terms of internal diameter. I am personally staying away from them until I see enough field use of them to determine that the smaller diameter is still adequate to support a primary second stage under demanding conditions.
