Having ice slabs or any pieces of it under the ice makes it possible to have a rope entangled:no . It's better to take everything up. Agree about the snowmobilersBetail:climb on to sink a corner of the slab and have the rest fo the crew push the slab under the ice. When the time comes to leave, just slide the slab back in place, pour a little water on the seams, marke the corners with branches or evergreen limbs and hope the snowmobilers are smart enough to stay away. (Smart snowmobilers, isn't that an oxymoron?) If they don't stay away, charge them for the recovery!
