After my recent episode in Palau (Bent???) I think the time has come to hang up my fins.
The story on this it seems go's back a couple of years when a emergency room Dr (neurologist) said I had had a stroke. A DAN Dr also a neurologist disagreed saying it was c3 & 5 vertebra in the neck that was herniated and had spurs, they were touching the central nervous system. I have continued to dive with no problem, until I went down in Palau and took a 2 1/4 hour chamber ride. To keep it short the chamber Dr said no bend, heat exhaustion and dehydration. The DAN Dr state side disagrees, type two hit. Saying I did have a stroke two years ago and with that and the vertebra problem I was at high risk for another hit and it could leave me in a wheel chair.
The Chamber Dr in Palau after looking at my graphs for the three dives that day said, they were ok. The state side DAN Dr said it was extreme diving, when I pointed out that two computers showed I had not gone into decompression he said, computers are modeled on a very fit 21 year old and if I did a square profile on my dives I was well into decompression.
But I think the time has come. I suppose I should not complain after 34 years of diving, it had to end sometime.
