Just did some Black Friday shopping out here in Guam and picked up my first BC, I got an Aqualung Seaquest Black Diamond for 359... I was looking to get a BC, when this one fit, the store assistant said this is what most of the instructors use because it was so durable and with that price I should jump on it...so i did...

If any of you out there have this BC or used it, would like some feedback..positive and negative...

I picked up a first and second stage regulator too, scubapro MK11 and R395, for $179, and since it is my first regulator I was happy with the price, and it is better than the rental equipment I have been using, so I could not argue there...once I have some more dives under my belt I will be able to tell the difference with balanced rigs, but for right now I was not ready to throw down the money until I knew what I really needed...

$359 sounds like a fair deal. Don't recall what retail is. $500-600???

Likes:
Number of shoulder and hip D-rings.
Small crotch D-ring
Velco along with buckle flap on trim pockets keep smaller weights in.
The back pad dosen't hurt my lower back like the SeaQuest Balance does. (Primary reason I bought one)
Waist 'bands' are adjustable.

Dislike:
50# wing tacos. I have noticed the 2010 models have relocated the band where it attaches from the wing to the backplate to reduce this.
Small pocket on the waistband
Waistbands to wide
Heavy

The MDA deals are great if you get there early and snag the good stuff. I saw they had some great regulator prices.
I just stopped by to pick up some tanks, and saw they still had a MK 17/G250 left for $359.
