You know it's gonna be a great day when you get a spam mail from YOURSELF...

Anyone know why / how to fix?

I got a spam from my own AOL address, wanting to see if I wanted "p i a n me d s and v a i g r a."

My first impression is that your email got scooped up in one of those "spam harvester" programs, and the spammer changed the "sender" address to your address (makes it harder to backtrace where the spam is coming from). Pretty common practice, from what I've seen. Best solution is just getting a spam filter program for your computer.

I get into work every morning and delete the first 100-200 emails i received overnight and early in the morning, oh well, its only a mailbox

As for the email name, gfisher's idea sounds plausible, i have found many that have been sent with other email extensions of sbrooks or sim_brooks in hotmail, aol, yahoo, etc etc - i am sure they didnt open up new accounts just to send them.

Or maybe you were just trying to tell yourself something. Got Viagra?

Is this some kind of Monty Python thing?
Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam,

PS. Sorry couldn't held myself from this comment

I imagine he's right, your email was spoofed by the spammer. Spam filter is what you need, or change your email.

Make sure you are up to date on your virus as well. I buy into the explaination that the senders address was changed by some Nice spammer, however there are a number of nasty virus's that infect your puter, than forward mail to EVERY individual on your contact list.

I've finally solved Pop-up's, but I'd like to SHOOT all these spyware/SPAM producing idiots.
