After a 13 year layoff from diving I got my first dive in last weekend at La Jolla shores. The girlfriend who is a couple weeks away from being certified gave me the stink eye when I came from the water after my dive. I'm afraid if I dive again before she gets her cert she will leave me! Who lives in Orange County or Riverside and has room for me to hang my wet gear so I don't get caught?:11: I can come home stinkin of beer and cheap perfume without issue, but coming home with wet gear will be the end. Well maybe it won't be that bad. No but seriously this plan may work;)

Ok, I am diving catalina 2 days during the second week of September. After that I'm hoping enough of my skills have come back that I'm not embarrased to dive with strangers here from the forum. Weekend trips will be planned with the girlfriend. I would also like to get some weekday dives in. I work in Irvine and live in Riverside. I get off work at 2:30. Instead of fighting the 91 freeway home I think it would be cool to get a mid week dive in after work. Does anyone else work in the O.C and get off work at a fairly early hour?

Welcome back to the water knucklehead,

If you have not dove in 13 years some would say you should do a recert course...or at the very least a refresher.

Good luck to your girlfriend with her cert.

You guys will have a blast out here. I would suggest you get in touch with RichP at South Coast Divers. South Coast Divers Home Page I'm new to the group but have been welcomed with open fins...:D They are a group that dives on a regular basis and welcomes divers from every level.

dive safe,

Jeff

Actually I'm tagging along with her through the class and will have a SDI cert too. But after 2 days in the pool most of it came right back to me so I went on a dive with an experienced friend.

Thannks for the link, there seems to be plenty of clubs and groups willing to take in rookies such as me. I plan to get out on some of those dives.

Hey John!

Not sure what location we are going to tomorrow? It's kind of a surprise....

Cool! I'm looking forward to getting involved with Reef Check. How long have you been working with the group?

dive safe,

Jeff
