Nice video Ken, I was there that night and cant believe how warm the water is. Thanks for posting.

What is considered warm water in California if you don't mind me asking?

Generally, anything that appraoches 70 (IMHO). This past Wednesday at Vets Park, the surface temp was around 71 and in the shallows maybe 65-68. However, when down in the canyon at depths of 60-80 feet, we recorded a temp of 53 (which is not that unusual because it's ALWAYS cold down there). However, such a severe temp swing is fairly unique to Vets Park, as the deeper canyon temp is generally 52-56-ish year-round.

To contrast, in the Avalon UW Park last week, I had it at close to 70 on the surface, probably 66-68 at shallow depths, and 63-65 at deeper depths below the "thermocline".

Hope that helps clarify things.

I had 73 at 30' in Catalina last Saturday. My 7 mil was almost too warm...

Nice video, Ken. Love the shot of the shrimp and decorator crab next to each other, not to mention the mantis shrimp.
