The Insane Lady (and I use the term in deepest admiration) went to 350' on air at the age of twelve. She explained semi-apologetically "You realize that 350' in warm Caribbean is very different from 350' here in New England. I was far more narced on my first New England dive at 180 feet." That one was when she was 13.
Now she races motorcycles, and claims that "lack of self-preservation is like having extra 30 horsepowers" -- if two racers have identical bikes, the one who does not care about survival will win.
When we were coming out of the water yesterday, I noticed she was shivering in her 5 mm wetsuit. I asked "You are from Caribbean. What possessed you to move to Massachusetts? It's cold here!" Her response: "I like America. America is fun."
I can not decide whether I am terrified or in love.
