I been shooting a Oly C5060 with a PT-20 housing for the past year, love the camera, but had a heck of a time with strobe's.

I was looking for a Ikelite housing for it, so I would have more choice on strobes, etc.

I stumbled on a C5050 with a Ikelite Housing, and a DS-50 strobe, for $500 bucks on Ebay!

I thought, man, a Ikelite housing for my 5060 is $600 new, $450 used, plus the DS-50 strobe is another $400, thats almost another $1000 and honestley I don;t even think the Ds-50 will be enough strobe.

Then I saw the C5050 on Ebay, and said, Camera, Ikelite housing, Ds-50 strobe, for $500 bucks, how can I beat it!!and to top it off, it came with a pelican 1600 case!!! Yes, I used the Buy it now :)

So now I have two camera's, two differnet set-up's, and only need one.

I think the Ikelite housing will give me more choices on strobes, and plus it's a better housing.

What do you guy's recommend, keep the C5050 whole deal, or keep the C5060 ??????

Check out my profile, alot of those pics were taken with my Oly C5060 , not bad for only having a internal flash!! I finalley learned how to set up the camera to
" my setting's " also, to save my setting's when shooting UW.

Tell me what you think !! I'd love to hear the pro's and con's of both !!

Here's my response from the previous thread. Keep the 5050, sell the 5060.

"KEEP THE 5050!" he shouted! It has a better lens. It uses AA batteries...etc.

From a trusted source:

Underwater, you will find the faster lens (f1.8) on the 5050 will give you better DOF, etc.

IMHO, the 5060 wasn't a step up from the 5050. Olympus went cheap when they changed the lens system on the 5060.

Gotta go with Jim on this one. But if you decide to sell the 5050...let me know.
