I just don't log dives
Hello all, I'm Tim. After looking around and liking what I saw, I decided to sign up. I'm returning to diving after a protracted absence. My first open water training was in 1975, so I plan on a refresher before I go out again. And it looks like I may do some gear shopping, since my wet suit won't fit anymore.

I'm looking at some alternatives to my LDS. In my area they don't stay in business long, and in some cases I've had bad experiences with them. I found their pricing predatory at best, and they treat newcomers to the area badly. Their attitude is, "if you don't like it, go elsewhere. Oh, that's right, you can't!" So if I must, I'll get air fills there and that's where it may end. If anyone has recommendations for outsourcing regulator service, i would appreciate it. I'm looking at "Reg-Tech" in Chicago for now. but if I continue to pay top dollar for bad service, I may just take the DIY route.

Welcome to SCUBAboard!

Welcome, Tim. Sorry you have issues with your LDS! I am fortunate to have several from which to choose, but they certainly have their personalities and the one I use is not the most convenient for reasons similar to yours.

While I have not done mail in service I'm sure you will find plenty of resources online and others certainly will speak up. As for tuning up/ training there are obviously good travel options. I have an instructor (independent) who I use in Key Largo that is the absolute best. PM me if you are interested.

Again, welcome and happy diving!

Tom
