what, no dovetails or through mortise and tenons with wenge wedges?
Not in five minutes. :D My dovetail and finger joint jigs should be here in December with my other tools.

Yeah same as the scuba world. I get all my info about decompression algorithms from facebook.
moderation matters
They are overrun with spammers. You have to keep up with it or they'll blow right over you. I love our mods!

That'll give ya something to do.

Not sure who is killing time the fastest. The guy that puts together his drawers with a dovetail jig or the mods that kill the spammers and avoid the internet cage match that many forums become. I've done both and I'm finding the referee gig more satisfying at the moment. It's all just filling time till they dig our hole.

I apprenticed four years in the Chemistry machine shop at UF. I ran a student machine/welding/structures shop for UF's college of Architecture for two years. I worked as an actual machinist for a couple of years and worked for many years in automotive. If it's metal, I can fabricate, repair and design all sorts of solutions.

Not so much with wood. I'm a hacker, a bufoon, and a huge fan of all things wood. This is as much a journey of discovery as it is a passion to keep learning. I've never cut a dovetail or a tenon joint. I've done half and full laps, finger joints and can make some things look good. Next year, I hope to build a fairly unconventional house, using a rather large Quonset Hut as the base.

What, no silo?

I thought he meant underground ballistic missle silo, flooded with water for dive testing purposes. These were available for sale for the creative-housing enthusiasts, or Arch-Villains creating secret lairs, I suppose.
