Hello from Arizona!

I've been on the board for a month or so, but just got my certification today! I've been working with a great instructor who's been very patient with me. I had some ear issues and then got a bit of a sinus infection right in the middle of my classes....sigh... Gotta love the magic genie pot (neti pot)....really helped me!

The OW dives were at Lake Pleasant here in Arizona. Really cold water, pretty murky (saw all of ONE fish today..haha!), and today was pretty darn windy...but hey....I did it!

Next stop....Catalina!

Welcome to the 'board!
And before you head west to our waters, please feel free and stop by our local forum
here. We love to share here so come on over...the water is cold and wet and we love it!
Also, check out your local forum to find local dive buddies. Dive safe and enjoy!

Welcome to the Board, Trianii! I see you've already been over to the Arizona Scuba forum. Don't let your first impression of Lake Pleasant keep you away from there. Desert Tortoise isn't the best area to dive. We had 20' of visibility at Scorpion Bay last weekend and saw a 3' long catfish during a night dive along with a couple dozen other fish!

welcome to SB. I am originally from Sierra Vista (AZ). The only lake close to there is Patagonia and there is no way I would dive that.

I've been diving in Patagonia. It definitely isn't worth it. But Parker Canyon Lake is about the same distance and isn't too bad. BTW, I lived in SV for 14 years.

Welcome to the ScuabBoard! Congrats on your cert. Hope you got or kept that warm dive suit for Catalina!
