Hope you get well soon. Sounds painfull. I called my dive buddy yesterday, he's out of the water after drilling a 1/4" hole through his thumb while working on his dive boat. Man I'd stay off the slopes and just stick with a nice safe hobby like scuba.

Welcome to the Injured Reserve list buddy! I've just got my first month of rehab behind me for my 4th shoulder injury surgery... I hope you have a speedy less painful recovery than the one I am experiencing! :D

Wow Jonnythan! Are you an adrenaline junkie by any chance?

A friend of mine broke his clavicle this summer and it takes a while to heal as I'm sure you know. He had to sleep in a chair at night because they couldn't do anything but put his shoulder in a sling, and give some good drugs for pain. Take care and let yourself heal properly so you'll be ready to dive soon.

At least you've got Scubaboard to keep you company in your downtime!

Jonnythan I'm really sorry for you. Must be a hell of pain. Take care of yourself, obey the Meds and heal quickly.

Dive good, ski bad. Good luck with your recovery. Re Oxycodone: if you crush them up..........nevermind.

I can almost guarentee that you will NOT be within even 3 feet of the ground!!

Sure, that's this ski season!

I've skied in Colorado when there was so little snow, they had to spread straw so you could get near the chairlifts.

I think that was the year they decided they needed to install snowmaking in Colorado after all... early '80s...

Maybe it'll be our turn for good snow next year here in Europe... certainly not this year. *sigh* Brand-new skis for Christmas, too. *sigh*

Get better, Jonnythan!

(A detachable poma??? That's why they had/have those things on reels. How fast does that sucker go? And what happens if you catch an edge on the way up and fall?)

The thing was amazing. First one on in the morning was ski patrol with the sled, taking it to the top. Skier PLUS sled got at least 5 feet of air and didn't land for 20 feet. Was definitely the most fun part of the entire day.

Hmmm, sounds like you should plan to stick with skiing UPHILL in the future, and then sort of slowly working your way down!

Sorry about your biff, at least it should be some consolation that it must have looked like a spectacular wipeout! :D Hope the drugs are good and that you heal up completely. Take it easy,

Doc

J,

Sorry to hear about the accident. When I was younger, I used to beat myself up on mogul runs out in CO and UT. As for the injuries, you'll pull through, no problems. I've broken those same bones, and many others. Give it time to heal and everything will be cool. I can tell you this though, get off the oxycodone as soon as possible. I still have half a bottle of it in my drawer from the last time I tore my shoulder out of socket. It's good and bad stuff!

Heal fast!

Sorry to hijack, but:
Forgive my snowboarder ignorance, but what exactly is a poma life, no less a detachable one, and how do they work?

Just trying to get a picture of this thing here…
