A common question.

Menstrual blood is "dead"- nothing like the blood coming from an actively bleeding wound. There is no evidence that sharks are attracted to menstrual blood. Tell your wife she shouldn't worry about anything but having fun when diving during menstruation.

The story of sharks being attracted by blood are distorted. Their attraction is to fish and sea mammal blood. Human blood holds no attraction to sharks (unless they're really hungry!).

Yes, it's true.

They did a study on Polar Bears and found menstural blood second only to seal oil in attraction ability. Don't plan any dive trips to the arctic that time of the month.
