Hi,

When a patient is admitted to a hyperbaric chamber and pressurised to say 18m, are they given 100% oxygen or a lower oxygen mix to account for oxygen toxicity? If the former, how does the chamber prevent oxygen toxicity?

Thanks

They cycle air breaks and don't maintain 100% nonstop. There's also a distinct and not well understood difference in how the body reacts to oxygen dry in a chamber as opposed to submerged.

There are 21% 'rest breaks'. Not sure what the ratio of 100% to 21% is.
