My boots on my dry suit are starting to wear a bit thin, not that they were all that great to begin with. I was thinking of replacing the boots with a sock next time around. What I want to know is if anyone has tried using a sock with conventional wet suit boots?

In this case I'm thinking of using my existing Henderson Hyperstretch boots. They are easy to get on and off, have a great sole, and are very comfortable. I think they will completely cover the sock and even up over the dry suit fabric. The only negative is that they are bouyant and will probably mean me wearing ankle weights again.

My thought is that latex would be better for this than neoprene, but I'm open to suggestions. Any thoughts on how well this would work?
