Does anyone have any info on Hydes quarry. Milage is the same as Millbrook, but time is longer.

Do you need to get passes in advance?
Are there discounted passes like at Millbrook?
Are there multiple enty points into the water?
What is there to see?
What is there in the upper 40 feet?

Contac Undersea Outfitters in finksburg, Last time I was there, they had 2 entry points to the water. . .

What is there to see. . . hmm we put a bus, a couple boats, a suzuki samaraui, a grain elevator, a washer and a tiller (good luck finding the last two).

Most everything but the bus is above 40FT. . . .

Undersea Outfitters

Laird and George are the shop owners. . . give them a call they will happily talk your ear off ;)

Hydes Quarry is a complete waste of time and money. No facilities, vis is always less than 5 feet, nothing to see and overpriced... considering far better options for the same money.

I'd say go to Guppy Gulch, Bainbridge or for that matter go jump in the Baltimore Harbor - the vis is better and theres more to see.

Yeah I am back . . . Still in Lynchburg . . . going to school at FT Knox for the month of june . . .

Made it out last Saturday to Hydes. Felt really good to get back in the water again! It's been since January for us!

Temps were chilly as to be expected - mid/high 50's on top, high 40's maybe below the thermocline. The real treat though is that Visibility was excellent (for here) - 20 feet maybe?

Aside the from the usual blugills, the Bass looked VERY healthy. And for a real treat, we saw two nice sized snapping turtles -- first time we've seen them here!
