another option not for sure how well it would work or if it even could work for snorkeling would be get him a FFM(Full Face Mask)

Are you guys just swimming around on the surface or diving down? He shouldn't have any need to equalize the pressure in his mask if you are just staying on the surface and could just use some kind of swimming goggles. Just keep in mind that he would not be able to relieve any squeeze in a mask/goggles without the nose pocket. I would use this as an "if all else fails" though. I think he would be much happier with a dive mask. Don't give up, I have a mustache and my mask doesn't leak.

I had a similar problem: I didn't want to shave my mustache. I tried Vaseline but it didn't help at all. I tried shaving a thin line just below the nose, and it helped, but still leaked.

For surface-only snorkeling I used a swim mask that does not cover the nose, as Down4ADive above suggests, and a separate nose plug to keep water out of my nose. If you are doing surface-only snorkeling this will work. Note that the swim mask is more comfortable than goggles and its only disadvantage compared to swim goggles is that it is not streamlined.

But as Down4ADive also points out, you cannot equalize the mask. Your husband would be okay ducking down to maybe 6 feet or so, but below that mask squeeze would be an issue.

I finally bit the bullet, and now I just shave off the mustache for snorkeling and scuba diving trips. It's just hair and it grows back!

I use a sunscreen stick also...but lately, I've been trimming it to a point that I don't even need that....I'm also considering losing it....

Mustaches are so passe` time for just a soul patch! :rofl3:
