I'm looking to got to PDC Sept 2-9th.
Is it worth the risk of hurricanes?
How is the weather that time of year if there is no hurricane in site?

We went to Puerto Aventuras just 30mins(?) south of PDC Sept 3-10 a couple years back. We were supposed to go to Cabo but they were having a hurricane... so went to the east coast. It is a crap shoot whether there will be a hurricane close or not, in PDC. We go to Cabo almost every year for Labor Day and have been there thru three near misses and one direct hit for hurricanes and they are supposed tobe less active for hurricanes on the west coast.
It was hot and humid in PA when we were there in Sept but we loved it, not as busy and the ocean water was really warm. Also if you get blown out for ocean diving you can go cenote diving. Have fun.

Right now the water temp is a little colder than normal we have had a thermocline, that is good news for hurrican season, all the tropical disturbances, or tropical waves are going through south america and passing not affecting us yet, but you know mother nature....
