OK, its true Mahaual is in dire need of supplies and help. There is a caravan of Playa del Carmen locals heading down today with building supplies, food, water, tarps, ...you name it, generators. I have two friends down there and both of their houses are GONE! We are doing what we can as a community here of Expats and Mexicans to help our friends to the South. Any help anyone would like to give should be directed here: http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carmen-forum/35443-hurricane-assistance-needed-majahual-asap-playa-folks.html

Thank you for all you ehlp and I will give an update as t how Mahual is after the convoy gets back tonight.

Hello everyone.. This is Julie Minter from Blue Ocean Safari Dive Center in Mahahual, Phillip Hetherington's partner in crime..

We are having a benefit dive on the weekend of the 13th of Oct in Mahahual. We would love to see you there, bring your dive gear or rent some here, but bring your camping gear and join the party... our way of getting the tourist back into Mahahual and get some pretty awesome diving...
don't know the damage, noone has gone in there, we went and it was only about 4 meters of reef that seemed damaged....
see you there....
Julie
