The triple clamp is pretty solid and since it is at the base, it does not move around too much anyhow. At least that is my first initial impression.

Here are some sample pictures with my cousins in a pool, using the D70 with 12-24mm lens, compact dome port and single Ikelite DS125 with single sync cord. Unfortunately the zoom gear for the 12-24 is not here yet so I was stuck on 24mm.

Looking good. Can't wait to see some (fish) results from your camera.
Personally I've never liked the triple clamp. Ike has a part which is made of moulded rubber which can be slipped over the arm ball and used to mount the controller. The part number is #0469.1 (http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/arm_o.html). Since aiming the controller will no longer be an issue you can replace the triple clamps with doubles.

hey...do have a license to drive that thing? :D Can't wait to see the photos from it!

Ha ha ha! You're right, you almost need a certification to fly that monster.

Opps, just looked at the link and now I am embarrassed. Ikelite actually shipped the EV controllers that I ordered with the rubber thingy in it as well. I was wondering what that was for. :06:

Nevertheless, by the time the second strobes and EV controllers arrived, I already have the tripple clamps and all the ULCS bits to mount the EV Controllers in my hands. I guess if I know better and sooner, I would have saved a good $100 on all these little parts :frown:

Oh well, at least now I am well accesssorized with all the parts I might not need.

I am thinking of adding a propellar to the housing, may be I can use it as underwater scooter

Oh my god I now understood how different a Canon housing and a normal housing can be ! I hopr that you will have enough light ! Is it for night or normal conditions ? :14:

have you weighed it?

Well, when I was in the pool snorkeling with it, it did not make me sink (hmm, actually that may reflect more on my body fat content but let's just ignore this particular fact and assume that it does not weight all that much underwater :eyebrow: )

Hmm... below is a link to a review that James Wiseman wrote about the Fuji S2 with an Aquatica housing. Scroll down the page and check out the size of the housing with the 70-180 lens installed (photo number 9). You can get an idea compared to his hands and forearm, and this is without strobes attached :11: :11: :

well, this is my setup with the 70-180mm lens. I think I will need to do a lot of bicep curl before I can handle this setup well. :sprite10:

DAMN thats huge.
At least if you get cold on the boat you can just remove the camera and climb in
