I will be in Huntington Beach on business in the middle of November, but I wanted to extend my trip a bit and do some diving while out there from NJ. Anyone have any suggestions on a dive boat operator I should look into?? Any boats go out on weekdays??

Huntington Beach isn't all that far from Long Beach or San Pedro, so you can go to Long Beach and dive with the Great Escape, the Cee Ray, the Sand Dollar, the Bottom Scratcher. Or go to San Pedro and dive with the Magician, the Sea Bass, the Mr. C. Or go to Los Alamitos and dive with the Sundiver, Sundiver II and Sundiver Express.

The Seabass tends to be a specialty boat. It has nitrox AND it's small & fast, tends to cater to the more experienced/tech diving crowd. If you want oil rig dives & deep dives on a boat that takes no more than 12-people then the Sea Bass is probably it. I believe that the Sundiver II is also a very small, fast boat as well.

The other boats are "cattle" boats that carry 20+ divers, give you hot grubs, freshwater hot showers, etc.

Sundiver Express, a fast boatout of Alamitos Bay (border of Seal Beach and Long Beach) runs on Wednesday and gets you there in 1 hour and 10 or so minutes. It is a well managed boat and will run if scheduled. Dive Boat Sundiver

Laugna Beach offers nearby beach diving.
