I would say about 40 divers were there. The new bathhouse with warm showers is a great addition. Saw a turtle and viz was the best I have seen there. Thermalcline at 34 feet.

It was nice there yesterday, but not the best vis I have seen there. I thought with the limited # of divers that it would have been better.
We were suppose to be off the Va. Beach coast diving the Mexicana, but thanks to this coastal storm that was off.
But we made 2 long dives covering the whole lake before the trip home. Temps weren't that bad, I was in my drysuit, but didn't wear a hood & stayed below the thermocline pretty much the whole time.
I didn't try out the bathhouse, with the trip home in 2 hours I would rather use my own.

I'm envious you guys were diving yesterday. Stuck here at work, I can guarantee you I wasn't having as much fun. Depending on the weather, we may make it out to the Tower on Sunday with Lynnhaven.

:D:D Yes a bad day of diving always beats a good day at work, so you know how I feel about a good day of diving (even at a quarry which I hate by the way)& a bad day at work.
Did you all get out today Patrick ?

Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled. Rawlings was our back-up location. With the price of gas, travel time, entry fee and other issues with the quarry; it's hard to beat our VA Beach diving. We're signed up again for the 19th Tiger trip. With a bit of luck, I'll snap some photos of the Sand Tiger hanging out around the wreck.

I 100% agree. I would much rather dive the Tiger than Rawlings anytime. Not to mention all the great dives we have off our coast.
It always amazes me to see how many people drive to Rawlings & we can't get enough to send the Lindsey off shore.
The only reason we went Wednesday was our trip was canceled & the weather was not looking any better for the weekend, plus the wife had my weekend planned out already.
I might make that Tiger trip, right now I have the Chenango in my sights on the 18th, but if that doesn't go I will jump on the Tiger trip.
I am going to MHC on Oct. 11/12.

Bobby, it would be good to have you along on the trip! I enjoyed your and Drewski's company on the last trip we had together. Each trip I've been on the Lindsey, going back to when I started diving in the 80's, has always been enjoyable. I don't think people give our local diving enough credit. There's so much history and marine life right out our back door. Even driving from Gloucester where I live is well worth the trip. Back when I was in high school they had another boat, the Cindy Loo. Friday nights were TGIF dives for $25. These were always booked and would often include a night dive on the Tiger or Santore. Many nice lobster were pulled up!

MHC will be nice! They had a deal last winter where you could stay at their lodge for free with a dive trip. I'm hoping there will be a similar trip offered this year.
