In the list of NSS-CDS instructors on the CDS website, Test Instructor isn't a real person, and the term "poser" in slang (source: Urban Dictionary) means to pretend to be somebody you're not, to be part of a culture or genre just to fit in.
Remember the Barefoot Man's song "Dive Club" from 1975? It's a song about a bunch of posers who never go diving except for the guy singing the song. The only real true diver in the club was me... The song is at 26:00 the YouTube link below. That's the kind of thing to which I was referring.
