FYI Humboldt Explorer is in San Cristobal and will run her first charter July 12.

Just got back middle of last week. We missed her by 3 days.
We did get a chance to go aboard and check her out last week Monday before
she left San Chirstobal. Nice boat. The only part of the crew that was from the Estrella Del Mar were the 2 dive masters, Peter and William. Both do a great job.

As far as the new boat goes, I noticed a couple of things that may be a disadvantage:

* Main lounge and dining area combined, not an issue, but this is the only area of the boat other than the dive deck that is sheltered. The entire top deck is lounge area and very nice, but no protection from the sun and wind.

* New pangas, however considerably deeper than the ones we used on the Estrella,
and no ladders.

Cabins are beautiful with nice private baths, and dive deck area is well layed out with huge camera tank.

Enjoy

Hello. I am interested in any one who can compare the Humboldt Explorer to the Aggressor boats. Of course, price difference, but has anyone gone on both? We are headed to the Galapagos in Feb - March 2011. We are Padi open water divers with more than 250 dives. we dont need luxury, but we dont want "bad vibes " either.

Hello do you have any experience with the Humboldt Explorer compared to the Aggressor? We dont need luxury, but are interested in a the "vibes" and safety. thanks for any guidance. We are headed to Galapagos in 2011

Hello carolitis -

Of course I am biased, but the Humboldt Explorer is brand new, and is a very nice vessel. You will not find any lack of luxury, "vibes", or safety compared to the Aggressors.

Best regards,

- Clay
