Your wish came true. Good thing I was on Nitrox as this Great Hammerhead came in when NDL's were getting low but I could have done some deco if necessary. We dove with Raajje Divers who were great.
My buddy and I had Buka or Fish as our guide and just us on the boat for all the non shhark tank dives. Was great and they brought along some trainees on some sites. Funny thing is I am a large lad so first comment of one crew member was give that guy an AL100. I replied just wait and see how I dive first. I am better on air than Fish and other guides lol. Fish has a great sense of humour though. Was fun diving the wreck site which I would love to do again.

The diver bitten at the shark tank came on her own private boat and was alone in the water and not paying attention. She got a slight nibble on the head. There are other sites where you can see sharks where there are no feeding stations at both Male and Fuvahmulah. Anyway no one is forcing you to dive sites were marine critters are fed. We had a great fast drift dive at north west end of Fuvahmulah. A large group of 14 Spanish divers would start their dives first and our group would start later and often from a different entry point.
Thing is at Fuvahmulah at lot of the sighting are where sharks are cruising deep from 45m to 55m depth so getting video means sometimes just hanging above. One one dive though I had a thresher shark cruise the wall at around 25m depth and I was deep so got a nice video of it passing above.
The Shark Tank is not my favourite dive site but you will get to see lots of different marine critters over a number of dives there. I can understand why divers on a short trip come in and do one or two dives there.

Shark feeding in the Maldives is a bit ambiguous start with it being illegal. Many fishermen anywhere in the world have a culture of dumping fish waste overboard which is especially true in the Maldives. In Oahu Hawaii, there are snorkel shark tour operators including Ocean Ramsey's where they coordinate with fishing boats to dump their fish waste in specific locations to get around any rules/laws. Back to the Maldives, in the evening in the capital of Male, the fish market dumps several garbage cans of fish waste into the ocean where 100+ rays wait at the surface while many sharks wait underneath. Some resorts claim they don't feed the sharks but rather, like the Male fish market, dump their fish waste into water for the marine life but know it will attract the sharks. In Fuvahmulah, they put tuna heads on the ground and partially cover it with rocks
Near Male, the island of Maafushi has a daily tour where they attract dozens if not a 100 sharks and will take drone photos/videos of you. Some reviews say the sharks are fed without sharing specifics
There are more Maldives shark attack videos, I guess the poster removed the any reference to the Maldives, but this was a Maldives liveaboard, it's still mentioned in the comments

Yes and the sharks GT's and other tuna come to that spot looking for food. They are not hand feeding so sharks are not looking to get food from divers. Although the divers are placed on the ground they are not looking behind them as tigers cruise overhead quite close from behind to get to the tuna heads.
The fun part of the dives is actually leaving the Tiger Zoo site to get back to the boat and sometimes you have 15 tigers circling around at different depths. Just need to pay attention. A german diver in my group didn't check his six but the guide and myself did. At least he got a nice vacation video of it.
I probably wont go back to Fuvahmulah again. But I will do a 40 dive trip in Male with Raajie Divers with two other dive buddies next year. We found a nice three bedroom apartment that makes it affordable and my buddies like the fact I cook breakfast and dinner. We do eat out sometimes and there are some good Indian and other restaurants around.
Nobody has to dive the Shark Tank in Male or Tiger Zoo in Fuvahmulah. In Male we had a group of lasses from the Philipppines and they were really excited to dive the shark tank. They had a blast and that's why these dive sites will always be attracting attention. If the off diver gets nibbled on then the you tube videos get a lot of clicks.
Of course a good photo of a 4.5m pregnant tiger is all one needs. Especially when the visibility is less than 10m.
