Great day! Good place, great staff, good food and company and a soft shell turtle that is a royal pain in the *****. I call it a turtle, Itote calls it a DPV.........or lunch. BTW he won the prestigeous "GOLDEN LIZARD AWARD" so everyone give him a round of applause.

The easter egg hunt was excellent except for the diver who came up with 48 eggs. A fine diver and over achiever to be sure but the bag limit was 5 per person. I will not mention names.

Thanks to Narco$$is for the get together idea and kudos on the runner up lizard award, sorry dude, I don't know what else to call it:D

Eric and Louis....always a pleasure and I'm sure you guys will enjoy the prizes you got.

This is the condensed version so everyone else chime in........

:luxhello: {N@rco$i$ applaudes Itote}

That turtle was something. I was standing in chest high water putting on my fins, I looked over to my right only to see these two beaddy eyes peering at me from just above the surface, followed by the little girl on the dock telling her mommy the turtle was gonna bite that man!! We'll he didn't bite me but I think he thinks he's a diver. He just could not get enough of us. Louis almost stepped on him coming back into the shallows, Someone else used him as a DPV ?! Man could that turtle manuever when he wanted to. He was zinging in and out of us like a fighter jet through the mountains!!

It was a great day, and it was just cool as usual to dive and hang out with fellow Scubaboarders.

PS. look for a Scubaboard get together at the Grotto in August, details to follow.
PSS. Next weekend, the Sheridan. Who's in?:D

Let me clear up a few things.
First I think everyone was suffering from "EGG ENVY" every Easter egg hunt I have been at the goal is to find as many as possible. I was told 5 eggs you get 1 chip, so 48 eggs I want 9 chips. I thought I had 50 eggs:D Nobody ever told me there was a 5 egg limit.
I would also like to point out that did I did "not overachive" I just ran out of room in my BC, do you have any idea how much room 48 eggs takeup?

Now as for the day it was a LOT of fun and was great meeting some new SB member. We had great weather and good food. I won a sticker and keychain and I now suffer from "GOLDEN LIZARD ENVY" but some folks did get very nice prizes. It was by far the best VIZ I have ever seen in the Grotto and made for some nice diving. Scuba West did a very nice job putting this event on. If we do have a August event there you can count us in.

Yes mere mortals, behold...The Golden Lizard! ( thunder pops somewhere off in the distance)
I hope that none of you guys that dove with me are too embarassed about the whole Award thing, but I guess I am the man:D
Seriously though, I had a great time and it was a pleasure to dive with you guys, even the "Overachiever"eyebrow Dennis, Dave, Mark, I look forward to it again in the near future.

For any Conchers that are curious I found that the best way to disuade an oversized softshell turtle from constantly harassing you is to turn him into a DPV as Mark pointed out earlier. There very quite and surprisingly maneuverable. All ya do is hold on and kinda point them where ya wanna go. The only down side is that they tend to spend more time trying to bite you than watching where there going so you have to keep up with both ends:D

Only downside to the whole trip was I lost a light. ( Not my fault: I was watching Cardzard trying to stuff that 48th easter egg in his BC(note: I hope that was where he was trying to put it)that i bout choked to death from laughing thus loosing control of all voluntary muscle control and dropping it into 100 ft plus of dark cold water.)

All hail the Mighty Golden Lizard!! ( that thunder thing again)

Chris

It was great to meet Cardzard, N@rco$i$, and his two boys. This is the second time I've dove with Eandiver

I think we need a picture of the golden lizard for everyone to see.

Words simply cannot describe the breath taking beauty of the object.

It makes the Oscar Award look like a garden gnome......

If my camera can withstand being in the presence of the all powerful "GOLDEN LIZARD" ( thunder thingy again)than I shall indeed post it. After all, it would be irresponsible of me not to share it with all mankind!:14:
Chris

Wait a minute, I have the "BLACK LIZARD" (flatchulance (farts) pops off in the distance). GOLDEN LIZARD'S never talked about evil brother. BAHAHAHAHA (Flatchulance again)
