I would like to know if my 2 regs: the KRONOS and the XTX 200 are compatible with steel HP air pressure bottles

second : I would like to know also if both are NITROX compatible,, or do I need to do something with them before using them with enriched air.. I looked at the APEKS sites and no answer there !!! they talked about NITROX regs available so not sure what they meant..

thanx

yes and yes

Yoke or din on your regulators? HP bottles have DIN valves on them.

In a nutshell, there isn't anything you need do with your regulators to use them with NITROX as long as you're not using them for deco gas with pressures of O2 higher than 40%.

My regs have a Yoke and the bottle that I am buying have a Yoke with the option to remove it to make it a DIN..

If the bottle is an HP one, then you really should have a din valve on top of it.

Well thanx a lot for the help much appreciated..

You'll always have at least small issues when using DIN on your equipment, in that very few cylinders in DIN are available when you travel. I have all of my tanks with DIN valves. I like them better. You'll probably need a DIN to YOKE converter ( just a fitting you replace the DIN fitting with ) so when you travel you can use YOKE style tanks.

It's kind of a pain in the ass, but for me, it's worth it.

On nitrox, yes they are compatible up to 40%, you do not need to do anything with the regs. There are special considerations for bottles if you use pp method for filling them

As for the yoke on HP I used my wife's reg with Yoke connector on an HP bottle. and so far it was good. It reads "3500psi max" on the connector. Given there should be safety engineering margin over 3500 it looks like it's possible. But I prefer DIN o n my regs
