When people go for a dive vacation, what's the main focus? coral, reef, marine life, underwater scenery, resort, spa, other activities, experience or just relaxing? what make someone go to the same place over and over again? I'm just curious!
The spa? Yeah, that must be it. Why else would anybody travel for days to get to Sipadan?

Our company are building an island resort on Pompong Island ( located 35 min boat ride from Semporna toward the north, 10 minutes to Mantaking, 45 minutes to Sipadan, just oposite Tun sakaran Marine Park ) Estimated to be ready by early 2007.

It will be a small island resort with diving facilities, 10 air-conditioned rooms with attahced hot/cold shower & toilet (5 semi-detached) only during phase I, another 10 rooms ( 5 semi-detached ) will be complete phase II, while swimming pool on phased III. 80ft drop off right infornt of the resort! Focus on quiet, relaxing kind of holiday experience.

Wonder if anyone had any suggestion on activities or facilities that we could build at our resort to make your holiday more complete..

would like to go there once you are ready;)

Do you have any suggestion on the facilities & activities for us to consider? Appreciate your answer!

well assuming you're not opening an ultra luxury Aman resort..
how about...

massage (always nice to have a beachside deep muscle massage after a long day of diving)

I would just say, make sure you get a good cook who's willing to cook more authentic malay or asian foods (i.e. not overly westernized; you know like sweet n sour everything ;)...)! But that's just me. Can't stand going to a nice resort/ liveaboard only to be served mediocre/ bland food.

maybe sea kayaks for those non diving days or non-diving companions.

1) Nitrox fills
2) Camera facilities--station for each photographer with space or shelf to store supplies, and outlets to recharge batteries

my, my, my. Hasn't this thread taken a sudden turn it a completely different direction. I've seen airplanes hijacked with less speed and force.

Will look into your suggestion, and try our best to put it in to our resort.
Food definately not a problem.. Any Suggestion on Sipadan Day trip arrangement are welcome too!! Thanks very much!!

I've talked to a dive operator in Semporna. She said she'll be opening a budget resort in the island of Maiga (beautiful island by the way). It's well within Tun Sakaran Marine Park (correct me if I'm wrong though, but Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai are also under this marine park anyway).

Maiga is rather far from Sipadan, so she said the dives will mostly be in Mataking, Mantabuan, Boheydulang and Bodgaya (one of them is actually a crater island, with the top blown off years ago, creating a caldera).
