When I "tidy up" the long hose by pulling it taut from behind the can light, it leaves a lot of hose flopping loose behind me next to the wing. I presume this is going to be a hazard in overhead environments, where it could get caught or cut.

My hose is the standard 2m long hose, and I'm about 5' 11". I assume others will have the same problems as well.

One suggestion given to me was to tuck the excess hose under the knife sheath as well. However, doing so changes the whole S drill, and I tried it and didn't really like it.

Other than buying a custom length hose, how does everyone else deal with this?

Thanks!

I split the difference and end up with a little slack behind the can and a little in front. Thus far it hasn't got hung up or anything.

I would not recommend tucking it under the knife. It ends up putting the hose on the left side of the chest dring and it gets trapped by stages/ deco bottles.

I am 5'5" on a good day and dive a standard 7' hose in an OH environment fairly regular-like. Agree with pfcaj on all counts above.

One additional point I'd add is that I have learned to... well, for lack of a better word.... shove, the long hose under the canister rather enthusiastically. That helps to keep it from coming out and creating a hot mess (potential entanglement hazard, general rule 6 violation, etc).

which regulators and what hose routing ?

primary hose is allready orientated down ; thus can't look out of W/BP

What the others have said, you don't need to pull all the slack out from behind the canister and have it "in front" shove some back behind the canister. It lays with the wing out of the way.
