was doing a clean up on my SPG, when i did a stupid move.

i unscrewed my SPG from the HP hose without realising how tight it was tighten in the first place.

so the question is, should I
1. tighten until i could no longer turn to tighten it?
2. or just a little more once the spanner will not turn using only my finger?

sorry for the vague description. but i do hope you guys understand what im trying to say.

thanks

Don't go snapping the sucker off. Assuming you have a "normal" SPG that uses an o-ring to seal, you would want #2.
Tighten by hand & then give it a moderate "tweak" so it won't go unscrewing itself.
(I'm too lazy to go look up the recommended inch-pounds.) It doesn't sound like you're using a torque wrench anyway, eh?

ohh ok thanks!

nope.. don't own one of those :(

The technical term is "tool tight" which just means, as Genesis suggested, a gentle tweak past hand tight with the wrench to ensure things stay put.

I vote for #2....It probably uses an oring to seal, and only needs to be tight enough not to come off.

Before you screw it back on make sure that little two o-ring dingus is back in.

Gotta love those technical terms.
Maybe we should write a new dictionary... :D

According to WEBSTER'S II New Riverside University Dictionary

"dingus - slang. An object whose name is forgotten or unknown"
