How popular is Protea Banks in Kwazulu Natal?

Hi guys,
Compared to other world dive locations how popular are the Protea Banks off the Kwazulu Natal South Coast? I live down here and like to hear an outside view on my own area.

they're not known well-enough outside of SA (IMHO). i loved diving the banks and aliwal. the hibiscus coast is not often talked about as a destination, or not often enough.

ditto for sodwana, my favorite place in the world!

Hi Alan, I am a South African by birth but now live in the US (near Los Angeles) and I certified here and have only dove the US West Coast. Can you post more info about dive sites in South Africa please?
