Hi. I am thinking of selling up and coming to live out in Thailand for a few years. Can anybody tell me how much instructors earn and which resorts are the best.

Depends of course on DC etc., but here on Phuket appx.:
liveaboard: about 800 Baht per day, and you have hardly any other expenses
free lance: 25% of course prices, an OWC will be about 10,000 - 12,000 Baht the upcoming season
fixed staff: 30,000 - 40,000 Baht per month, in high season a bit more.
