I guess i'm one of the fortunate ones. I actually lived through the vintage years. Started diving in 1953 at 10 first regulator i owned was a double hose cousteau and Gagnon. used the same double hose's through Navy Dive school 1965. Got my first single hose USD conshelf in Key West underwater swimmers school. still use those single hose conshelf today. Double hose are nice but to much maintenance problems for me. I use to carry two or three double hose with me drop one and problems would arise. Heres a picture of me in 1967 in Panama City with Navy aluminum Doubles and Aquamaster Regulator.
