I ordered my first drysuit (Trilam ATR HD) about a week ago. Stock size, only need soft socks for rock boots. My question is why do we have to wait that long for a new drysuit? How long did you wait for yours after you ordered? Thanks!

The dive shop told me to wait up to 30 days.

Unless its a stock size with no adjustments necessary thats pretty quick but lets see when it actually shows. I dont mind waiting but I do appreciate it when things happen when promised.

30 days. Didn't fit, so sent it back. 30 more days. Still didn't fit, but dove it until the neck seal blew. 30 more days and it came back with a new neck seal and still didn't fit. Dived it while I pitched a fit, alienated the dive shop owner in the process 'cause I emailed Diving Concepts directly, but got the suit sent back again. 30 more days and it fits better, but still far from a good fit. I'm going to live with it until it wears out, though.....

Bought a Nex-Gen - they had to order in the right size for me, but with the manufacturer right in town it only took 1 business day, plus the weekend.

Ordered my CLX 450 June 26, 2004. Told by DUI it would ship Aug. 08, 2004.

Added pockets and knee pads.

Wife ordered a FLX 50/50 with zip seals, same dates.

I'll let you know if it holds to the time frame.

FYI, I got the ship date from DUI directly by e-mailing customer service with info about the order. They responded with the ship date within a few hours. The LDS I purchased through kept telling me a few weeks with no definite date.

About 8 weeks for DUI signature series TLS 350 this past spring. Not exactly sure how much of this was due to LDS delays vs. DUI delays, though.....

I learned too late what Seabat says above -- that you can get a ship date from DUI customer service once the order is in their queue.
