Hi,

I am thinking to purchase the Titan LX from Aqualung as a backup reg. does anyone know this reg. and how it is working at depth; any special problem etc....

I have a titan lx on my legend 1st stage as an octo and it has been fine over the last 100ish dives. I detuned it a bit to avoid freeflow. Have taken it to 130ft, where I took a few puffs and it breathed fine. Nice reg.

its what i primarily breathe. only had one free flow problem and that was taken care of. otherwise, its a work hourse.

The Titan LX is what I bought for my first reg, and it's still my singles setup. It's been to 130 feet, and it's been in 45 degree water on a 21 degree day. One free-flow, and we never figured out why (but it was probably a freezing problem, given the circumstances and weather). Otherwise, it's functioned perfectly, and I think was a very good value for the money.

Thanks to all

It's a good regulator. One thing to consider is water temps you'll be diving in. It's not environmentally sealed on the 1st stage. Though I believe that there is a kit do make it sealed.

It uses the same rebuilt kit as the Legend/LX also. (Or at least the same as the Legend/LX 2nd stage). So it's a common rebuilt kit stocked by dealers.

i bought that reg as part of the kit it works well evne though i have 1 dive on it.. as i just got it... lot better then rentals..

and there are 2 models of the same one.. 1 for cold watter with a snowflake on it and the other without it i have the cold watter one its adjustable and works fine..

i found it to be a decent reg.. and i wasnt tasting salt watter in it like the rental regs i used it was much nicer the lip warmer is nice as it keeps your lips warm but it can be removed if you dont like it..

Of the 2 models you refer to, the one with the "snowflake" is the Titan LX Supreme. The difference in them is the environmental kit and a mouthpiece lip guard that has been added to the regular. Oh.. and the snowflake, which is just purely cosmetic but makes it easier for your dive shop employee to tell the difference. The intermediate pressure is set slightly different on the Supreme also. Otherwise it's the exact same regulator besides those parts.

If you have the regular Titan LX, you can make it a supreme with the enviro kit and mouthpiece.

The Legend LX Supreme is also the same difference, but it doesn't have an enviromental sealing kit since it's already sealed. It's only cosmetic differences and lower factory set Intermediate pressures on 2nd stage.

The mouthpiece lip guard is kinda nice though. I really liked it diving in colder water.
