South Florida and briefly decades ago on the Great Barrier Reef. It was always probably pretty safe, but these videos and stories pop up all the time about someone spearfishing a little north and getting a flyby or diving on the deeper wrecks off Key Largo and guess what swam by us! Plus they have those locator beacons on some of the beeg feesh, and they pass right through pretty much everywhere.
