How far in advance do you plan?

I typically start thinking about options well over a year in advance (I currently have a couple of places I'm thinking of for summer 2009). Since we like to go to Maui for Christmas to our timeshare, that has to be planned and reserved a year in advance. Our upcoming trip to Bonaire was booked about 9 months ago.

Can't really say at this point....
we have a large (non-diving) project in the works and everything else is dependent on that. Looks like a weekend in Calif diving and our local Hole teaching will be our only diving on the books for awhile. Either Belize Nekton or Cocoview are on the horizon if the other project doesn't come through.

my husband laughs at me because i plan our trips way in advance. but some places you have to (we can only go on school holidays because i'm a teacher) and besides, it gives me something to look forward to. we're already booked for roatan in july and curacao in november. thinking about a return trip to bonaire in march '09 and turks&caicos liveaboard summer '09.

my question is this: how far in advance to you plan your trips?

I plan way ahead. Approximately 6 months ahead. When in July and where are you staying in Roatan and Curacao. Strange, I am going to Roatan the week of July 19th and Curacao the week of November 8th.

we are a group of 4 going to coco view in roatan july 17 thru the 27th and just the husband and i are going to curacao (sunset waters) the week of thanksgiving.

Great, enjoy. We are staying at Anthony's Key the week of the 19th for Kids Sea Camp with my nephew and friends. The week of November 8th we are staying at the Royal Resorts (we have a timeshare).

I just booked May 27 for a trip to Caicos for June 14-21... kinda close, eh ? airfare went up $200 during the time i was researching for a package combo wtih air and hotel. Shoulda caleld the agent a looong time ago....
