How does the diving/cost of living for a couple months compare on Koh Tao to Utila?

Wanted to know if anyone has any advice regarding an extended stay in Koh Tao or Utila. For diving there both about the same cost, I am wondering which had better dive sites and what the average cost is for food/accommodation/nightlife. Thanks and safe travels for all
