How does diving Saturday at Monterey/Breakwater in the afternoon/evening look like based on your past experience?

I am arriving Saturday just past 10am to SFO and will rent a car and drive down if there is possibility to do some shore diving at BW.

Sat. and Sat. evening look diveable based only on my loose interpretation of the weather data. W Swell @ ~7ft, so the breakwater should be well sheltered.

Go for it.

It's probably not going to be the best of conditions but should be good enough for a nice tour of the wall and the Metridium Fields... Of course make the final call when you get there.

.SAT NIGHT...NW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT. W SWELL
7 TO 9 FT AT 12 SECONDS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN.

But all the other forecasts are bigger.

It's not about diving all the good days, but about diving none of the bad
days. I'm firing up Turbo Tax, and cleaning the sensor on Adm. Linda's
D40.

Iztok: You got a serious case of what we call "Sacramento Syndrome" or
"Fresno Syndrome": "I came all the way from Sacramento/Fresno/NC/whereever
and by gum I'm gonna dive." Be careful.

Thanks for the concern Chuck! :) I really appreciate it.

It is not "darn I am going to dive". Reason why I am asking is that if the seas will be extremely bad I will not even bother to drive from SFO to BW. However if there is decent chance for dive I will.

I have no problems calling the dive at any point. Even if I am in the water trying to go through surf or before that. I can always go dive another day (unless I am dead). :)

Basically reason for asking is to solicit input from those familiar with local conditions :)

Well I arrived to San Mateo and going to drive to Monterey in few minutes.

If anyone is planning to dive in the afternoon/evening, please give me a call.

Thanks! :)

I got to dive with Don and two of his students (Mike G and Mike M). Visibility was decent. Surf wasn't bad at all. Surge was big compared to my regular quarry dive

All in all I am glad I did a dive. It was helpful for me to experience different water conditions that I am used to.

Don, Mike and Mike, thanks for letting me dive with you guys!

Today I dove with Kristina! It was a pleasure as always! Thanks Kristina!

Breakwater was nice today (I think) :)

I hope to get some pics off my camera once it is done soaking in fresh water and post here.

Breakwater was nice. I was happy to dive with you Iztok, thanks for everything.

Hope you have a good rest of trip. See you next time!
